Amateur Sadom holds halfway lead at ATGT Q-school
Amateur Sadom Kaewkanjana posted a second round 65 to lead by one shot at the final stage of the All Thailand Golf Tour's Q-school in Nakkhon Nayok on Wednesday.
The Thai national player made seven birdies against alone bogey at par-71 Watermill Golf Resort and Garden. He was at 13-under-129 in total.
Overnight leader Gunn Charoenkul was a shot behid, firing a 4-under 67 to stand at 12-under.
Witchayanon Chothirunrungrueng, who won the Thai PGA tour title a couple months ago, made six birdies against alone bogey for 10-under.
Wachirawit Saoron eagled the first and the final holes en route for a 7-under 64. He stood fourth on 9-under while Poom Pattaropong (66) was on 7-under. Borworn Chaisri (70) and Fan Chiang Hao-Chuan of Taiwan (65) shared 6th on 6-under.
Myanmar's Kyaw Thet OO (73) and Yoshinobu Tsukada (67), who won the Japan Tour's Token Homate Cup in 2013, sat on 5-under.
Japan's Hirotake Sugano (73) and Ye Htet Aung of Myanmar (73) were tied for 34th on an even-par 142.
Thai-Japan Kosuke Hamamoto has qualified for the final two rounds despite making a 74. The former Thai national player was at 143.
With the cutline of 148, eighty-five players have qualified for the final two rounds. The top-35 and ties will earn the cards for the 2019 season to start with the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship to be held at at Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club on January 10-13.
Among 22 foreigners to have qualified for the weekend rounds, Japan, Taiwan and Myanmar have four representatives each
