"Thai Diamond" Phachara tied for 6th in South Korea

Seeking to be the first non-Korean to win the title since American Mark Calcavecchia in 2004, the 18-year-old Thai started with back-to-back bogeys and despite making two birdies in the next holes, he bogeyed at 8th to turn at 37. In the next eight holes, he made two birdies and four bogeys before finishing his round with a double bogey.

Starting the round with a two-shot advantage, Phachara was tied for sixth on 4-under-281, five shots behind winner was five shots behind winner Lee Sanghee of South Korea,who closed with a 68 for 8-under-276.

Gunn Charoenkul posted a 71 for 285 and tied for 17th while Rattananon Wannasrichan went down to share 21st on 286 following his disappointing 77.

Phachara will next play at the Rocco Forte Open in Italy on May 18-21 while Rattanon joins the Thailand Open in the same week.
